Move over, plain pastel eggs!

This Easter, we’re kicking this holiday tradition up a notch with some fresh egg decorating ideas. Whether you’re going for a galaxy-inspired masterpiece or a glowing egg hunt under the stars, these ideas will make your Easter celebration colorful and so much fun!

1. Galaxy Eggs

Take your eggs out of this world! Start with a black or dark blue base coat. Then, add some flair by flicking metallic or pastel paint onto the shell to create a starry sky. Finish with a few hand-painted galaxies or planets if you’re feeling extra-cosmic.

Tip: Toothbrushes or old make-up brushes are the perfect paint-splatter tool. Just be sure that when you're decorating these Easter eggs, you keep the splatter zone clear of anything you don’t want star-dusted!

2. Flower Eggs

Celebrate Easter with a delicate, springtime vibe and decorate your eggs with dried flowers. Use a thin layer of glue or Mod Podge to attach the flowers, giving them a dose of vintage botanical charm. These eggs are so pretty that we don’t blame you if you don’t want to hide them!

Tip: Gather wildflowers from your garden and press them a few days before decorating to get the perfect flat, dried-floral Easter egg look.

3. Marbled Nail Polish Eggs

Did you know you can make marble Easter eggs with nail polish? Yep! Your favorite nail polish will work for decorating eggs too! Fill a bowl with water, drip in a few swirls of nail polish, and gently dip your Happy Egg in for a marbled design that looks straight out of an art gallery.

Tip: Work quickly—nail polish dries fast in water! Wear gloves to keep your hands clean and free of colorful swirls.

4. Emoji Eggs

The kids will love decorating their Easter eggs like emojis. Whether you’re all about the 😍 heart eyes or the classic 😂, these eggs are sure to make everyone LOL.

Tip: Start with a yellow base, then use a thin paintbrush or markers to draw the emoji faces.

5. Glow-in-the-Dark Eggs

Glow-in-the-dark eggs take Easter egg decorating to a whole new level. All you need is some glow-in-the-dark paint to make eggs that shine. Hide them around the house and turn down the lights for a glowing Easter treasure hunt.

Tip: Charge your glowing Happy Eggs by placing them under a bright light for 10-15 minutes before the hunt begins.

6. Confetti-Dipped Eggs

We know we’re not supposed to pick favorites, but if we could: confetti-dipped Easter eggs. This easy DIY Easter craft is guaranteed to add some sparkle to your Easter centerpiece. Simply coat the bottom half of your egg with glue, then roll it in colorful confetti for a festive, textured design.

Tip: Use biodegradable confetti to keep things eco-friendly!

7. Ombre Eggs

Tired of Easter eggs that are all the same uniform color? Try making ombre eggs. Create a gradient of color by dipping your egg in dye multiple times, gradually lowering it further into the dye with each dip. You’ll end up with a soft, blended ombre effect that’s super trendy and elegant.

Tip: Use natural dyes like beet juice or turmeric for a more rustic, earthy color palette.

8. Minion Easter Eggs

“Minions! Tonight, we steal… ze moon!” Kidding, we’re just bringing everyone's favorite troublemakers to Easter! Start with a yellow base coat, then paint the signature blue overalls, black goggles, and mischievous expressions. These eggs are sure to be a hit with both kids and adults. Bonus points if you make a whole Minion squad!

Tip: Use a black marker or fine brush to draw the goggles and facial features for clean, cartoonish lines. Mini candy eyeballs can also be glued on for a fun, 3D effect!

9. Tie-Dye Eggs

For one-of-a-kind easter egg designs try tie-dye eggs. Wrap the eggs in damp paper towels, drip food coloring over them in various spots, and let the colors bleed together. The results are always unique.

Tip: Experiment with different color combinations and layering to get cool patterns each time.
