If you choose to make your own, Happy Eggs’ tasty orange yolks create the prettiest eggnog at the holiday table, adding a festive touch that's sure to impress your guests.

How to make homemade eggnog...

Ingredients

  • 6 Happy Egg yolks

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 2 cups milk

  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • ¼ vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

Steps

  1. Grab those beautiful orange egg yolks and sugar, and whisk them together until they’re light and super creamy.

  2. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, mix together cream, milk, nutmeg, and salt—let it bubble gently like chestnuts roasting on an open fire.

  3. Slowly introduce your egg mixture to the warm milk—a spoonful at a time and give it a good whisk to keep it smooth.

  4. When you’ve added most of the milk to the eggs, pour it all back into the pot on the stove.

  5. Whisk away for a minute or so until it thickens slightly. It’ll continue to thicken as it cools.

  6. Take the eggy mixture off the stove and stir in the vanilla.

  7. Strain the eggnog into a pitcher, cover it, and chill until it’s nice and cold.
